· Ensure completion of experiments and generate accurate and reproducible data from experiments. Develop relevant models and validation of the same.
· Supervise and execute laboratory / pilot plant experiments pertaining to the relevant research area such as sample preparation using various methods, sample characterization using various analysis & evaluation of the concerned samples.
· Organize facilities for experiments in research such as chemicals, equipment, analytical methods etc.
· Participate in pilot plant operations / studies, utilize results as boundary conditions for model development
· Support to plant operations
· Collect data and conduct relevant analysis
· Uploading reports on portal
· Preparation of Internal Technical Report
Get trained, understand & apply in-house developed molecular models/software, statistical models/ software, models built on process software and molecular-models based online/offline application software/ models.
Work with experimental group to support molecular model parameterization
Validate molecular models with lab/ plant data
Work with internal customers to satisfy their requirements
Work with their analytical colleagues to get appropriate data
Conduct literature survey
Use statistical/ data-analytics algorithms for regression, classification, clustering etc.
Review validity of analysis and test methods
Participate in validation trials
Assist in plant trouble shooting
Coordinate site activities for successful implementation of projects
Participate in pilot plant operations / studies, utilise results as boundary conditions for model development
Prepare/Use simulation models.
Study technology offers/ process engineering documents
Support to plant operations
Collect data and conduct relevant analysis
Uploading reports on portal
Perform process engineering design activities such as using relevant tools
Preparation of Internal Technical Report
HSE & other regulatory compliance
Follow applicable HSE procedures/ practices in conducting experiments & ensure compliance by team members.
Show higher level awareness of environmental, site, statutory, IP regulations and adherence to them
Handle chemicals and tools as per safety norms while conducting experiments
Understand MSDS of chemicals being handled in experiments and take adequate steps to mitigate hazards.
Ensure safe working conditions in laboratory & pilot plant
Ensure good housekeeping at work place
Learning & mentoring
Update on developments in the field of research in terms of new areas, tools and innovations.
Acquire and improve IP related awareness
Familiarize with applicable guidelines /codes / standards / legislations relevant to field of research
Familiarize with relevant administrative aspects of laboratory/pilot plant

Learn and enhance relevant/related modelling skills
Develop expertise in relevant designs.
Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)
Experience in one or more process software (e.g. ASPEN, CHEMCAD, HTRI),
Experience in one or more computer programming languages - MATLAB, R, C, C++, FORTRAN
Background/experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus: Molecular thermodynamics/ statistical mechanics, molecular kinetics, numerical/statistical methods (e.g. equations of state, molecular simulations, chemo metrics, group contribution theory thermodynamic/ kinetic parameter estimation from quantum, semi-classical, group contribution theories, etc).
Ability to develop statistical correlations and inferences from large sets of data (Experience in one or more of the following - R, MATLAB, Tableau, Python, SAS, SQL, etc.)
